Translink Laneway, Templepatrick

The works comprised of the construction of a 3.6m wide stone laneway within a 5m fenced boundary with associated access splay and boundary fence and hedge row.

The construction of the laneway allowed Translink to close a user worked crossing by giving the landowner alternative access to the agricultural land via the laneway from Rickamore Brae. The laneway is 585m long. Construction of the laneway includes 50mm of compacted quarry dust on top of 300mm of type 3 granular material.
Works were carried out in conjunction with an Archaeologist with methods to protect two mounds whichwere archaeological points of interest. Night works on the railway track including removal of fencing, signs, tarmac to crossing and the erection of fencing and hedging.
