Translink appointed McMackin Contracts as the main contractor on the Cullybackey park and ride scheme. The car park provided 81 additional car parking spaces at Cullybackey railway station. Site constraints included the close proximity to the live railway lines and level crossing.

The construction included:

• Asbestos removal.
• Vegetation clearance.
• Demolition of existing building, structures and concrete slabs
• Crushing and re-use of existing concrete and stone from demolition.
• Drainage works.
• Retaining wall structure.
• Kerbing & tarmacking.
• Installation of underground services, lighting columns, CCTV, and street furniture.
