Project Description

Juniper Hill Caravan Park – 2014/15

Works Undertaken – As Main Contractor on the scheme McMackin Contracts were initially involved in considerable Value Engineering of the scheme which resulted in a saving of approximately £60k to the Client before the scheme commenced.

Prior to commencement onsite all the required Health and Safety information was compiled and submitted to the Client by McMackin Contracts including the Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan, the Environmental Management Plan and all required Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
As the scheme involved various different elements including M&E works the careful management of subcontracts also had to be meticulously managed by McMackin Contracts.
The scheme itself involved the installation of approximately 30km of drainage of varying sizes up to 600mm as well as the installation of new electrics to the site including new distribution panels and bollards to individual caravans.

One of the main challenges of the scheme was the close proximity in which the existing 600 Static Caravans were placed. Through careful plant selection and using only highly skilled operatives all new infrastructure was installed without any damage to any properties.
At the request of the Client an accelerated completion date was also met. This was achieved through detailed Programme Management and by thorough Contract Management by McMackin Contracts.
