Abbots Diabetes Care Phase 2, Donegal

Mc Mackin Contracts completed works on a new Access Road and Car Park (including temporary Contractor’s Village) at the ADCD Plant in Donegal Town, Co. Donegal.

The Project involved excavation of approx. 30,000m3 including disposal off-site and cut/fill on-site.
Works involved construction of a new Access Road and Car Park as well as temporary car parks and Contractors Village. Earthworks included extraction of approx. 10,000m3 of rock, place and compact as part of the road make-up. There was also approx. 20,000m3 of clay excavated and hauled to nearby tips both off-site and on-site.

Works also included:

• Temporary wheel wash system installed for lorries hauling material off-site
• Drainage to new road including manholes, testing and commissioning
• Diversion of existing ESB & Eircom services
• Construction of new road leaving ready for tarmac
• Construction of concrete footpaths, kerbing etc
• Erection of Hoarding as per JPC specification
• Works included the construction of ancillary chambers, testing & commissioning
• Closure of existing access points
• Demolition of existing building/structures
