The works comprised of the construction of a 3.6 metre wide stone laneway within a 5 metre fenced boundary with associated access splay and boundary fence and hedge row. The construction of the laneway allows Translink to close a user-worked crossing by giving the landowner alternative access to the agricultural land via the laneway from Rickamore Brae. The laneway will be approximately 585 metres long. Construction of the laneway will include 50mm of compacted quarry dust on top of 300mm of type 3 granular material.

Works were carried out in conjunction with an archaeologist with methods to protect two mounds which were points of archaeological interest. Night works on the railway track including removal of fencing, signs, tarmac to crossing and the erection of fencing and hedging.
